Big Blue Data Academy x Femme Forward
Big Blue Data Academy Brings Femme Forward to Greece: Free Cloud Computing Training for 40 Women
At Big Blue Data Academy, we are proud to announce our participation as the main and exclusive representative in Greece for Femme Forward, a transnational educational project co-funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ program.
As part of a consortium of 15 organizations from across the European Union, we are undertaking the free training of 40 women who wish to take the next step and launch a dynamic career in Cloud Computing, through the recognized AWS re/Start program.
The Cloud Opportunity and the Need for Inclusion
Cloud Computing is at the core of modern digital transformation. By eliminating the need for on-premises infrastructure, it offers businesses flexibility, speed, innovation, and cost savings. According to Statista, 42.5% of companies in the EU used Cloud services in 2023, while the industry's momentum is massive, with the potential to create over $1 trillion in value for Fortune 500 companies by 2030.
However, despite this rapid growth, the representation gap remains. In the broader IT sector, women make up only 22% of the workforce, while in Cloud Computing specifically, this figure drops to 14%.
At Big Blue Data Academy, we believe that empowering women in tech is crucial. As studies demonstrate (such as the BCG report), teams with above-average diversity report 19% higher innovation revenue. At the same time, integrating more women into the sector:
Offers financial empowerment through well-paid career opportunities.
Addresses the skills shortage currently faced by the tech market.
Promotes social equity and ensures equal access to high-growth opportunities.
Our program features live online classes and provides participants with:
Competitive Technical Skills: Training in emerging Cloud technologies that give you a significant edge in the job market.
Soft Skills Development: Instruction in critical competencies such as problem-solving, project management, and agile methodologies.
Comprehensive Career Support: Personalized career planning and development tailored to ensure each participant is job-ready.
Direct Market Connection: Access to Big Blue Data Academy's extensive professional network, which includes the country's top technology companies.
Certifications and Strategic Partners
Upon successful completion of the program, the 40 participants will receive the AWS re/Start certification. Furthermore, they will have the opportunity to take the exam for the AWS Cloud Practitioner—one of the most globally recognized certifications in the Cloud space—completely free of charge.
The program is supported by leading strategic partners, ensuring a seamless connection to the job market: global technology leader Fujitsu will ensure that the acquired skills align perfectly with real-world industry demands, while the leading HR firm Randstad will bridge the gap between our graduates and available job positions.
